To enhance the practical ability to respond to major production safety accidents and accompanying environmental emergencies involving hazardous chemicals, Hubei Qianjia Chemical Co., Ltd. successfully held a comprehensive emergency drill with the dual subjects of "Toluene Storage Tank Leakage" and "Liquid Chlorine Warehouse Leakage" in the factory area, highly simulating complex scenarios such as hazardous chemical leakage, fire, poisoning, and environmental pollution.
Qichun News, June 18, 2025, In order to enhance the practical ability to respond to major hazardous chemical production safety accidents and accompanying environmental emergencies, Hubei Qianjia Chemical Co., Ltd. successfully held a comprehensive emergency drill with the dual subjects of "Toluene Tank Leakage" and "Liquid Chlorine Warehouse Leakage" in the factory area, highly simulating complex scenarios such as hazardous chemical leakage and fire, poisoning, and environmental pollution.
This drill set up two core projects. In the toluene tank leakage disposal drill, a static electricity leak caused by the toluene storage tank and a fire were simulated. The company's emergency command center quickly launched the highest-level plan, and the internal emergency rescue team carried explosion-proof tools and special adsorption materials to quickly reach the site, complete process isolation, leak source blocking, and use foam to cover and control the fire. The liquid chlorine warehouse leakage disposal drill simulated the situation of valve failure leading to liquid chlorine leakage and toxic gas diffusion. The county fire rescue brigade's professional hazardous chemical disposal team, guided by enterprise personnel, wore heavy chemical protective suits to carry out plugging operations, and at the same time activated the spray absorption system to neutralize chlorine gas.
Under the unified command of the Qichun County Party Committee and County Government, the drill involved efficient coordination among multiple departments, including the County Emergency Management Bureau, Fire Rescue Brigade, and Ecology and Environment Bureau. Firefighters responded rapidly, completing fire suppression and toxic gas disposal. The Ecology and Environment Bureau established multiple monitoring points at the factory boundary and downwind locations to monitor pollutant concentrations in real-time and deployed activated carbon interception barriers and alkaline spray absorption to prevent pollution from spreading. Medical rescue personnel standardized the transfer and decontamination procedures for the injured. Information was communicated promptly between the government and enterprises, instructions were delivered precisely, and resources were allocated systematically.
This drill comprehensively tested the pertinence and operability of the company's emergency plan, demonstrated the collaborative combat capability of the company's emergency team and government professional rescue forces, and verified the emergency disposal effectiveness of leakage blocking, fire fighting, toxic gas control, environmental monitoring and interception. The drill was well-organized, responded quickly, cooperated tacitly, and successfully achieved its goals. Hubei Qianjia Chemical stated that it will take this drill as an opportunity to continue to deepen safety risk management and control, optimize emergency response processes, strengthen employee skills training, and earnestly fulfill the main responsibility for safety production and environmental protection.
